5 Million $$$ Dessert

It is not wholesome, but it is very valuable
In 2009 my pastry chef André Barbe and myself created the most expensive dessert with 929 diamonds, with a total weight of 151,92 carat including 7 very special stones with 5,05 to 9,04 carat.

A cake that costs more than 5 million dollars. It is a chocolate cake that is part of a hotel package at the luxury resort Frégate Island Private in the Seychelles. And the offer is not valid for Christmas, but is intended as a gift for Valentine’s Day.

But what makes the dessert so valuable? It is the South African diamonds that adorn the chocolate cake of Executive Chef Sandy Bohm and Head Pastry Chef André Barbe. The luxurious garnish for the delicious chocolate cake comes from one of the leading international diamond cutters, Rosy Blue. No less than 929 diamonds, weighing 151.92 carats in total, adorn the Valentine’s Day treat, including seven special stones with between 5.05 and 9.04 carats.

The perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the woman who apparently already has everything, thought the hotel management as they tied the package. The price of around 4 million euros includes two first-class flight tickets with Emirates Airlines to the Seychelles – regardless of the departure airport – as well as a week of full board for two people on Frégate Island Private.

By the way: The millionaire who kidnaps his lady of the heart to this tropical paradise is spoiled for choice as to which of the picturesque postcard motifs he would like to have dessert served in front of.
